The Process.

Matt Lane grew up on the recreation fields in Jones County playing baseball and football and helping his parents David and Elaine Lane, who were pivotal figures in youth sports in Jones County. This is where his passion for athletics, competition, teamwork, and helping others comes from. Matt has always found himself around a ballfield. At first just volunteering his time while managing and owning restaurants early in his adult life. Following his mother's death in 2019, Matt closed down the family restaurant and dove into coaching and mentoring players full time as General Manager of Factory Sports Training.

In Matt's current role he handles all the day to day operations of The Factory Sports Training of Georgia working closely with all of our other coaches on scheduling, practice planning, player evaluations, and player development. Matt works primarily with the players in our high school program where he focuses on mental toughness, preparation, recovery, nutrition, and development of the complete player along with helping players and parents develop their recruitment plan.

Matt has 2 sons that play or have played for The Factory. Holden is a sophomore pitcher at Morehouse College. MJ is a senior catcher/pitcher at Stratford Academy.

Ryan Bresse is a professional whose work spans financial technology, financial education, youth sports, and community mentorship.

Professionally, Ryan is associated with ScoreNavigator, a credit and financial literacy technology company. His work has involved consumer credit education, credit-score analytics, financial wellness tools, mortgage-industry solutions, product development, partnerships, and explaining complex credit information in a way consumers and industry professionals can use.

Ryan is also heavily involved in baseball coaching and player development through Factory Sports. His involvement includes coaching, organizing travel baseball programs, player evaluations and development, facility operations, sponsorships, fundraising, and creating opportunities for young athletes.

Outside of his primary professional work, Ryan has been involved in financial education and mentorship for young people. This includes speaking to high-school students about credit and financial literacy, mentoring young adults, coaching youth baseball, and supporting scholarship opportunities for graduating students.

I’ve had the opportunity to coach baseball at multiple levels throughout my career. At the high school level, I’ve coached at John Milledge Academy (JMA), where I was fortunate enough to be part of a state championship team, as well as Georgia Military College (GMC) and Veterans High School.

I’ve also coached at the middle school level at Clifton Ridge Middle School and Huntington Middle School. In addition to school baseball, I’ve coached travel baseball with The Factory, working with players ranging from 13U through 17U since 2021.

These experiences have allowed me to work with players at different stages of their development and gain a broad perspective on what it takes to help players reach their potential.

Big Focus on building an identity. My players quickly build self driven expectations. They work so immensely there’s no need to worry about any situation or outcome. They know who they are.

Coach Marc Holmes brings five years of travel baseball coaching experience and a passion for developing competitive, confident young athletes. Marc understands firsthand the commitment, dedication, and teamwork required to compete at a high level.

Marc’s coaching philosophy centers on player development, fundamentals, accountability, and a strong competitive mindset. He takes pride in helping players improve their skills, understand the game, and develop the confidence to compete in challenging situations.

Most importantly, Marc loves seeing the growth and development of each player—from the first practice to game day and throughout the season. His goal is to help every athlete become a better baseball player, teammate, and competitor while creating a positive team environment built on hard work, respect, and a love for the game.

Coach Marcus has been coaching travel baseball for the past four years, bringing a passion for the game and a strong commitment to helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.

A Jones County native, Marcus grew up playing baseball in Jones County and continued his career through Jones County Middle School and Jones County High School. His own experience as a player has shaped the way he approaches coaching today.

Marcus believes that every day is a new opportunity. Players can build on yesterday’s successes, learn from their failures, and come back ready to get better. He emphasizes that hard work, perseverance, and never giving up are key to becoming a successful baseball player.

He also believes that baseball is a game of failure—and that failure is not something to fear, but something to learn from. What matters most is how you respond, grow, and keep moving forward.

As a coach, Marcus is passionate about teaching fundamentals, building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and helping each player reach their potential. Most importantly, he wants his players to develop a love for the game while learning lessons that will stay with them long after they leave the baseball field.

Marcus is also proud to experience this journey alongside his son, Mallex, who is a member of the team. Coaching his son and his teammates is an opportunity he truly values, and he looks forward to a season filled with hard work, growth, memories, and plenty of baseball.

Roger Birdsong brings five years of Little League coaching experience and a lifelong passion for baseball to the travel-ball community. A former high school baseball player who received college scholarship offers, Roger brings firsthand playing experience and a strong understanding of what it takes to compete at a higher level.

Roger has coached players across all Little League age groups through 10U, including three years coaching All-Stars and two Little League championship teams. His coaching philosophy focuses on developing strong fundamentals, baseball IQ, confidence, discipline, and a love for the game.

Roger is passionate about helping young athletes reach their potential while teaching them how to compete, overcome challenges, and become better players and teammates. His goal is simple: develop confident, fundamentally sound players who love the game and are prepared to compete at the next level

Ryan May brings more than a decade of coaching experience, a competitive mindset, and a passion for developing young athletes to the Factory baseball program.

Ryan’s baseball background began as a four-year high school utility player, where he developed an understanding of the game from multiple positions. His coaching career began in 2013 with his oldest son, who is now 23, and over the years he has coached players across multiple ages and levels of competition. Several players Ryan has had the opportunity to coach and develop have gone on to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

With his youngest son, Ryan returned to the beginning, coaching him from T-Ball through his current years of competitive travel baseball. Along the way, Ryan was part of the coaching staff for the Coach Pitch All-Star team that captured the 2023 Little League Georgia Coach Pitch State Championship.

Ryan coaches with a team-first mentality and believes that individual success comes from putting in the work, being coachable, competing for your teammates, and doing your job on and off the field. His approach focuses heavily on player development—building strong fundamentals, baseball IQ, confidence, discipline, and an understanding of how to play the game the right way.

He believes players should be challenged, held accountable, and given opportunities to grow. Winning matters, but development comes first. His goal is to prepare players not only to compete at the level they are at today, but to develop the skills, mindset, and work ethic they will need to play at the next level.
